That said, he pees a LOT, and for the first two months of his life he also pooped A LOT. Our LO was born a preemie, and he's a tall skinny baby who is in the 10th percentile for weight in the term baby charts and the 80th or 90th percentile on the preemie charts. Use whatever packs for the next size you already have from baby shower and only use gift card to purchase diapers once you run out of whatever size you need so you don't end up buying a size you're just gonna have to return anyway (hope that made sense) They will more than likely give you a gift card. Best bet, if receipt is not available, is returning to Walmart since that's more than likely the store they were purchased from. Once baby moves from one size to the next, return any unopened boxes/packs. If baby is in one size but seems to be close to moving up to the next, finish off open pack and move up a size so you don't end up throwing away/giving away half a box. When you realize they need to move up a size, try to finish off whatever you have left from the open pack. Do not open a box or pack until the last opened one is gone. My best advice is to keep all of your gifted diapers put away and take out what you need when you need it. There's honestly no telling how fast your baby will grow. Size two went by fast as well - while she technically still fits them now at 4.5 months (16.5 lbs), there were too many blowouts so we rather have her on size 3. She was 14 lbs by 2 months old, but was a super pooper so we went through some ~560 size 1 diapers. My second used a small pack (~28) of newborn diapers. Size two went by fast, we were out of it by 2 months old, after another pack or so. Or be a super pooper, and go through 12 diapers a day for a long time, throwing the calculations in the wind.įor your reference, my first skipped newborn size and even size 1 we only used 1 pack (about 168 diapers) as the little behemoth was 14 lbs by 1 month old. Or be born a preemie, and spend a LOOOT of time in newborn diapers. Your kid may skip newborn diapers completely. Not knowing your baby size/percentil and gender, we can't really make an educated guess whether these values are appropriate for you or not. The numbers you have been gifted are not too far from this calculation! 8 boxes of Size 3 (based on a 136 pack size babies will typically be in this size through the rest of their first year-and beyond-with an average of 5-7 diaper changes per day).5 boxes of Size 2 (based on a 148 pack size babies will typically be in this size for 3 months, with with 6-9 diaper changes per day).4 to 5 boxes of Size 1 (based on a 168 pack size babies will typically be in this size for 3 months, with 6-9 diaper changes per day).1 to 2 boxes of Newborn Size (based on a 128 pack size babies will typically be in this size for 1 month or less, with an average of 8 diaper changes per day).If you don't see your post in the new section, please message the mods.įrom that site, these are their recommendations for diapers for the first year: Want to share a blog?
